When interest rates were low in the 2010's and there was ample VC money, we had lots of examples that reinforced the entrepreneurial idea of the tech startup. The ideal was starting a tech company that could be acquired.
Maybe higher interest rates are partially driving the shift towards entrepreneurship through acquisition/sweaty startup ideas? You certainly hear more about it today in an environment where you have lots of retiring owners and an emphasis on cash flow.
