Realized something ironic while building a tool to remove friction for others
I’ve been building a tool that helps people work without friction no context switching, no juggling, just deep focus.
But over the last 2–3 days, I caught myself doing the exact opposite. I was jumping between fund applications, fellowship forms, and pitch decks... instead of just building and pushing traction.
It took me almost two days to realize how ironic that was.
As builders, it’s easy to get pulled into “opportunities” YC, Thiel, grants, investors, accelerators. Each one feels urgent and important. But in the process, you can lose sight of the one thing that actually moves you forward: building.
If someone asked me, “What’s the single most important thing you should be doing right now?” I should be able to answer instantly and that answer should align with progress, not distraction.
Just a small reminder to myself (and anyone grinding right now): Don’t let the noise of opportunity take you away from the focus that created those opportunities in the first place.
